Praise Night on the Beach

Having fun singing at the beach!

UCI students and mentors playing Christian campfire songs at the beach!

Last Fall, Acts2Fellowship hosted a Praise Night on the Beach during Welcome Week. We headed over to Huntington Beach, which is one of the perks of being at UCI - close to the beach! Our setup was complete with string lights, tiki torches, and full band setup around the fire pit.

For some, it was the first time seeing each other since summer started and it was a great time to reconnect. For others, they just started at UCI as freshmen or junior transfers, so it was their first time joining our college fellowship. We wanted to give them a warm welcome, so we made sure the fire was burning bright and there were plenty of s’mores.

After eating plenty of pizza and roasting marshmallows, we started our time of praise as the sun was setting behind us. We sang along to some classic praise songs like “Made to Worship” and “This is Amazing Grace” as well as some newer favorites like “”What a Beautiful Name” and “Build My Life”.

We also got a chance to break out into smaller groups and pray for each other and the upcoming school year. Starting a new school year is almost always a time of anxiety for college students, so we wanted to start the year out right by turning to God in prayer. It also was a great way for us to love one another and grow deeper in fellowship.

We ended the night with some classic campfire songs like the Milk song or  “Deep Deep”, where we got to hear just how loud we could shout our love for Jesus! We even got a chance to showcase some hidden talents as some of the students stepped up to play the various instruments and sing!

Whether you have musical talent or not, we hope to see you at our next Praise Night on the Beach!
